Special Pirith Chanting Session at Sakya Monastery, Kalimpong, India

Sri Lankan Tibetan Buddhist Brotherhood Society organised a special pirith chanting session at Sakya Monastery, Kalimpong, India on 06th July 2019 for His Holiness the Dalai Lama’s 84th birthday.

The group from Sri Lanka organized by the society celebrated His Holiness’ 84th birthday in the best manner by taking the holy Buddha relics from Sri Lanka to a Tibetan monastery in West Bengal. The delegation lead by the President, SLTBBS, Dr. Damenda Porage included two Sri Lankan monks Ven Seewali Thero and Ven Dhamma Chiththa Thero. The monks chanted many sacred suttas to send wishes to His Holiness for good health and long life. They chanted Dhammachakka sutta, Ratana sutta, Bojjanga sutta, Maha Mangala sutta and many other important suttas in Buddhist teachings.

The society would like to thank all those who helped to make this meritorious event a success.
