The Dalai Lama – His Philosophy & Contribution to Global PeacePhoto Exhibition, Talk and Film Show

Sri Lankan Tibetan Buddhist Brotherhood Society’s primary objective is to raise understanding and awareness of the common Buddhist heritage of the Sri Lankan and Tibetan peoples through literature, dialogue and exchange programmes of Sri Lankan and Tibetan monks, nuns and lay students. We are in a mission to translate works of eminent Buddhist masters and scholars from both languages. Our ultimate desire is to promote non-violence and compassion as values for humanity throughout the world. We strive with dauntless optimism to organize, either independently or in collaboration with the Sri Lankan Sangha and other organizations, visits by His Holiness the Dalai Lama to Sri Lanka for pilgrimage to holy Buddhist sites and to give Buddhist lectures and public talks on ethics and spirituality.

We see the in-depth value and contribution by His Holiness the Dalai Lama to global peace and we see His Holiness as a contemporary Buddha figure who is doing exactly the same mission that the Buddha did 2600 years ago. Therefore, the SLTBBS has decided to organize weekend events ‘The Dalai Lama – His Philosophy & Contribution to Global Peace’ from January 2018 in Sri Lanka to appreciate the noble mission of His Holiness the Dalai Lama. With this event our objective is to create awareness and educate Sri Lankan citizens the mission, vision and the philosophy of His Holiness the Dalai Lama and his teachings.

We also plan the same event to mark His Holiness the Dalai Lama’s birthday on the 06th of July.

To witness these events the SLTBBS wishes to invite the Maha Sangha including Mahanayakes, Anunayakes, Chief Incumbent Theros, Sangha Councils and representatives from all the Nikayas and Chapters. We also invite diplomats, universities and schools.

Sri Lankan Tibetan Buddhist Brotherhood Society is a nonprofit charity organization and these events are conducted by the support from the well-wishers. Your help is very much appreciated.

We are planning to hold the ‘Dalai Lama in Frames’ Photo Exhibition on Sundays starting from the first week of January in Dhamma schools in Sri Lanka’s various locations. Also the Society is planning to donate Dhamma books to the school where the exhibition is organized. The Society first organized this photo exhibition on the 80th birthday of His Holiness the Dalai Lama at the Queens Hotel, Kandy in July 2016 and the second one at the Mahatma Gandhi Centre in Matale in August the same year.
