බුදුන් වැඳ වැඩ භාරගත් නව ඉන්දියානු මහ කොමසාරිස් තුමා

ශ්‍රී ලංකාවේ නව ඉන්දියානු මහ කොමසාරිස්තුමා ලෙස මෙරටට පැමිණි ශ්‍රීමත් ගෝපාල් බැග්ලේ මැතිතුමන් සිය රාජකාරි කටයුතු ආරම්භ කිරීමත් සමග කොළඹ ගංගාරාම විහාරස්ථානය සහ කැළණිය රාජ මහා විහාරස්ථාන වලට පැමිණ බුදුන් වැඳ ශ්‍රී ලංකාවාසි සැමගේ නීරෝගි භාවය – සාමය සහ සමෘද්ධිය වෙනුවෙන් ප්‍රාර්ථනා කිරීම අප දෙරට අතර ඓතිහාසික මිත්‍රත්වය සහ සහයෝගිතාවය විදහා දක්වන සුවිශේෂි සිද්ධියකි.

සාමාන්‍යයෙන් වෙනත් තානාපතිවරුන් එලෙස බෞද්ධාගමික වත් පිලිවෙත් වලට මුල්තැන දෙමින් රාජකාරි කටයුතු ආරම්භ කිරීම දුලබ දසුනක් වුවද නව ඉන්දියානු මහ කොමසාරිස්තුමා ලෙස ශ්‍රී ලංකාවට පැමිණි ශ්‍රීමත් ගෝපාල් බැග්ලේ මැතිතුමන් සිය රාජකාරි කටයුතු ආරම්භ කිරීමත් සමග කොළඹ ගංගාරාමයට පැමිණ ආචාර්ය කිරින්දේ අස්සජි නාහිමිපාණන් වහන්සේ බැහැදැක තෙරුවන් පුදා සිය ආගමික වතාවත්වල යෙදීම බෞද්ධ දර්ශනය ගැන එතුමන්ට ඇති ගෞරවය සහ අවබෝධයත් එමෙන්ම අප දෙරට අතර ඇති ඓතිහාසික බෞද්ධ සම්බන්ධතාවය පිළිබඳව ලොවටම පෙන්වන සුවිශේෂි අවස්ථාවක් විය.

ඉන් අනතුරුව කැළණිය රාජ මහා විහාරස්ථානයට පැමිණි ගෝපාල් බැග්ලේ නව ඉන්දියානු මහ කොමසාරිස් තුමා විහාරාධිපති මහාචාර්ය මහින්ද සංඝරක්ඛිත මහානාහිමිපාණන් වහන්සේ බැහැදැක තෙරුවන් සරණ ගොස් බෞද්ධ වතාවත් වල නියැලීය. බුදුරජාණන් වහන්සේ තෙවැනි වරට හා අවසාන වරට වැඩම කල ඓතිහාසික කැළණි රාජ මහා විහාරස්ථානය බුදු පහසින් ශුද්ධත්වයට පත්වූ පුදබිමක් බවත් එතුමා ප්‍රකාශ කළේය.

ඉන්දියාව සහ ශ්‍රී ලංකාව අතර පැවැති ඉපැරණි බෞද්ධ සබැඳියාවත් මිත්‍රශීලී රාජ්‍ය තාන්ත්‍රික භාවයත් ගැන පැහැදිලි කළ එතුමා බුදුන් වහන්සේ උපත ලද ඉන්දියාව සහ උන්වහන්සේ විසින් ලොවට දායාද කල උතුම් ආර්ය මාර්ගයෙන් දෙරට අතර අද දක්වා ශක්තිමත් සම්බන්ධතාවයක් පවතින බවත් පැවසීය.

ඒ මාර්ගය තවත් ශක්තිමත් කරමින් ශ්‍රී ලංකාව නව සංවර්ධිත දේශයක් බවට පත්කිරීමට නොයෙක් ආකාරයෙන් ඉන්දියාව ලබාදෙන සහයෝගය පිළිබඳව ශ්‍රී ලාංකිකයන් වන අප මේ මොහොතේ කෘතවේදීව සිහිපත් කළ යුතුව ඇත.

 

NEWLY APPOINTED INDIAN HIGH COMMISSIONER ASSUMED DUTIES WITH THE BLESSINGS OF THE BUDDHA

Unfolding a new chapter in the history of our age-old historic bilateral friendship with India, enriched with noble influence of Buddhism, His Excellency Gopal Baglay, the newly appointed High Commissioner of India in Sri Lanka assumed duties and attended Buddhist religious observances at Gangaramaya, Colombo as well as Kelaniya Raja Maha Viharaya, Kelaniya, Sri Lanka. In this remarkable event, the High Commissioner invoked the blessings of the noble triple gem for the good health and well-being of all Sri Lankan citizens, reflecting the tenets of good will, Buddhist values and deep understanding between the two nations.

The significance of this occasion has increased many folds as it was seen as a rare occasion that a leading foreign diplomat has thus engaged in Buddhist observances at Gangaramaya, just after assuming work. His Excellency Gopal Baglay called upon Dr. Kirinde Assanjie at the temple during the visit. The new High Commissioner taught the world by example that sense of highest devotion and virtuosity towards Buddhism were foremost in his mind for all his endeavors to fostering new era of bilateral solidarity and friendship between the two close neighboring nations.

Thereupon, His Excellency Gopal Baglay paid a visit to Raja Maha Viharaya, Kelaniya, another leading Buddhist temple and observed religious observances and called on Ven Prof. Mahinda Sangharakkitha Nayaka Thero, the Chief Incumbent of the temple. The High Commissioner made a special mention of the fact that Kelaniya was well known for the third and final visit of the Lord Buddha making this place of worship so sacred among Buddhists all over the world.

Highlighting further on account of the inseparability to the principal teachings of Lord Buddha, a great son of India, the new High Commissioner who is with enormous knowledge and vast experience in the field made a vivid explanation on how the two nations survived and embraced by essential teaching of Dhamma with shared values of humanity and strong friendship from the time immemorial.
